The Photograph: A Valentine’s Day Must See

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and you may be searching for the perfect way to spend the day with your favorite person.

Whether you’re anxious to plan a romantic evening with your lover or if you dread the day, the box office knows exactly what to do. HBO’s “Insecure” star, Issa Rae will star in the Romantic Drama “The Photograph” on Valentine’s Day.

The film is about the daughter of a photographer who suddenly passes away causing the birden of her mother’s death to confuse and traumatize her. Rae plays the character of Mae, the photographers daughter. After discovering a photo of her Mother in an old box, her life takes an unexpected turn as she tries to uncover a piece of her life she has yet to discover.

Mae must uncover the truths from her Mothers past in order for her to move forward in her personal life with learning to love herself as well as a significant other.

Aside from the excitement of the Black-Lead Romance the film is also directed by a woman of color, Stella Meghie. Meghie is known for directing movies like “Everything, Everything” that came out in 2017 staring Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson.

The Photograph will not be the only thing you can expect to see in theatre’s near you. Rae will also be staring in the romantic comedy “The Lovebirds”, with the comedian Kumail Nanjiani.  ​The film is set to release on April 3, 2020. 

The Photograph was listed as one of the best films to look forward to in early 2020.Kristen Yoonsoo Kim wrote, ” From the trailer alone, the chemistry is already palpable! What a swoon-worthy Valentine’s Day release.

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
